Age Limits

• 21 to 40 years

Essential Qualification

• A Degree from a recognized University.
• Proficiency in the language concerned.
• Camera-friendly face with a voice of very good quality suited to broadcasting.
• Correct Pronunciation, accent, and modulation.
• Knowledge of current regional/Indian and foreign affairs.
• Acquaintance with names of important personalities in the Region / India and abroad.

Preferable

• Journalism background.
• Professional background in the fields of academics or related areas.
• Experience with television/radio media.

Desirable

• Knowledge of English and Hindi.
• Ability to interview people who matter in news.
• Ability to write news stories and report events from the sports.

The procedure of selection will be: –

• 1. Selection of application by an Internal Committee (consisting of Director (N), Producer News and Senior ANE) to shortlist candidates fulfilling the stipulated Qualification.
• 2. Interviewing short-listed candidates to assess their personality Knowledge of current affairs and voice quality.
• 3. Those who qualify for preliminary interview to be recorded on camera reading the news.
• 4. Recording of their news reading for five minutes in the language concerned will be examined by an expert committee of non-official and official members.

The Expert Committee will consist of: –

• Three outsides experts to be approved by DDG (N&CA).
• One official from the Directorate: Doordarshan/DTC/ASD/Producer.
• DG (News)/his representative who will be the chairman.
